Traveling to Melbourne

Planning Your Travel

Because of time change and jet lag the Organizing Committee suggests you consider arriving in Australia a day early. This will enable you to relax and familiarize yourself with your hotel and its surrounds before the start of the Congress. Sleep on the way over and have great time when you get here. If you are traveling from the East from or via America, don't forget the dateline. It means you lose a day on you way over (because we are ahead of America!) but gain it on the way back so you will arrive home the same day you leave.

Flying to Melbourne

Travelling to Australia is often seen as a luxury, especially taking into account the strength of the Australian dollar in recent years. This is however changing: compared to other currencies, the Australian dollar lost some of its value (now averaging at 0.80 USD), and many suppliers in the Tourism industry are offering affordable deals – so you’ll get more bang for your buck!

A round trip to Melbourne would cost you around $1300 USD from North America (from New York, NY or San Francisco, CA), a little under $1000 USD from Europe (London or Munich) and barely $500 USD if you are coming from Tokyo. Travelling to Melbourne is more affordable than you thought!
